UBISOFT IS WORKING ON AN ASSASSIN'S CREED TV SERIES
Time: Mar. 23, 2017It looks like Ubisoft's cross-media efforts to expand the Assassin's Creed franchise will extend beyond last year's live-action film, as a TV adaptation of the popular video game series is in the works.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations Uplay CD Key head of content Aymar Azaizia confirmed that a TV series is on the way during a Reddit AMA. While Azaizia refrained from providing specifics about the show, he assured fans that it won't be a rushed project. "It's like the movie guys, we will take our time to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of," he said.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures, which produced last year's live-action Assassin's Creed movie (read IGN's review) and a Rabbids TV show, will presumably handle the Assassin's Creed TV series as well. The publisher's aforementioned film and television division is also producing a Splinter Cell movie starring Tom Hardy and a film based on The Division that stars Jake Gyllenhaal.
Last year, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed the company was in talks to make a TV series with Netflix. It's possible this project could be the Assassin's Creed TV series, though Ubisoft has yet to share any details regarding the premise of it's potential Netflix series.
